HIGHWAYS & HEDGES: Daily Reading Plan

Slide1.JPG

In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells a parable of a great feast to illustrate the kingdom of God. There’s a banquet, he said, and the Servant was sent to invite the unexpected – the poor, crippled, blind, and lame. He’s even sent across the boundaries to make sure the Master’s house is full. The mission of Jesus is now the mission of the church: “go out to the highways and hedges.”

The goal of this reading plan is to help you see what the gospel is and what it calls you to do, in word and deed, in the name of Jesus Christ. As you reflect on the Word each day, here are three questions to ask yourself:

  1. What does this passage reveal about God and the gospel?

  2. What does this passage reveal about how we’re to follow Jesus?

  3. How can I obey and share this message?
